Real estate news and information company CoStar Group has hired Allen Johnson to be an editor of its Midwest coverage.
For the past 18 months, Johnson has been a senior account manager at Taylor Johnson Public Relations in Chicago. That firm specializes in representing real estate companies.
Before that, he held a variety of editing positions at the Chicago Tribune. Before leaving there in October 2016, he was a source editor, directing business news coverage for print and digital editions.
He supervised a team of reporters with an emphasis on personal finance, housing, retail and consumer issues. The companies his team covered included United Airlines, Ulta and Sears Holdings.
Johnson was also a news editor and senior news editor at the Tribune, which he joined in 2004.
Before the Tribune, Johnson worked at the Times of Northwest Indiana as a night editor.
