Kyle Hagerty, a real estate reporter for Bisnow, has been hired by CoStar Group to cover commercial real estate in and around Houston.
He has been at Bisnow since April 2016. While there, he broke the story about how Mattress Firm opened too many locations during an expansion.
Washington-based CoStar Group has been expanding its real estate news operation in the past six months and hired Dan Beyers, formerly with the Washington Post business news desk, as its executive editor last month.
Before Bisnow, Hagerty worked in a number of different positions, including as a tutor and as a ticketing analyst for Shell Trading, where he analyzed third-party oil tickets. Hagerty also worked as a superintendent for Epoch Construction Services in Houston.
He is a Texas A&M graduate in economics.
