Hello all,
I’m excited to announce that we have hired Eric Hagerman as the Content Development Team Leader for our Home and Appliance CIA. Eric comes to us by way of This Old House, where he was special projects editor, and director of video and multimedia content. At This Old House, Eric was responsible for the annual “Reader Created” issue, as well as the “Top 100 New Home Products” list. Eric pioneered TOH’s approach to user-generated content, channeling a reader contest involving renovation projects into both a yearly special issue of the magazine, as well as a Web channel with videos and how-to advice.
Eric also was co-author of the book Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain. For the book, Eric partnered with Harvard clinical psychiatrist John J. Ratey to explore new insights into how exercise can boost the performance of the brain as well as the body.
Eric has a deep background in both product and consumer service journalism. Not only did he evaluate and create content about products for TOH’s top 100, but at his previous stint at Popular Science, he reconceptualized that brand’s “Best of What’s New” franchise. Prior to that, Eric has worked as a senior editor at Outside, and a before that at Mountain Biker.
Eric will join us on August 8. So please stop by his office in the Atrium once he gets here and say hello.
