Consumer Reports hires Grauer for Security Planner

Yael Grauer

Longtime technology reporter Yael Grauer has been hired by Consumer Reports to help direct Security Planner, its service to help people with online security.

Grauer will be reporting on privacy and security, and working on digital rights investigations.

She has written for Ars Technica, The Intercept, Wired, Motherboard, Slate, Breaker, and other publications. She’s also been the managing editor of Performance Menu, the monthly magazine of Catalyst Athletics.

Grauer teaches workshops on digital security and source protection. She also served as the Trollbusters director of education, designing resources and curriculum to help women journalists stay safer online.

She is the author of the college textbook “Business Writing: A Content Marketing Approach,” and a master level Copyblogger Certified Content Marketer.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
