Barron’s columnist Steven Sears is leaving the news organization.

On Facebook, Sears posted:

I had an amazing run, and traveled the world, and covered and analyzed some of the most historic events in the history of the markets, if not modern times. Many thanks to all of you for the support, and friendship. It was truly an honor, and I am beyond proud to be an alumni of Barron’s.

Sears was a senior editor and columnist with Barron’s and Barrons.com since August 2006. He wrote the “The Striking Price” and “Striking Price Daily” columns.

Sears is the author of “The Indomitable Investor: Why a Few Succeed in the Stock Market When Everyone Else Fails.”

He previously reported for Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal from 1995 to 2002. Sears has reported upon most of the major modern financial events, including the Asian contagion, the bursting of the Internet bubble, the credit crisis, and Europe’s sovereign debt crisis.
