Barbara James, an assistant business editor at the Columbus Dispatch, is retiring this week.
Editor Alan Miller writes, “Barbara James worked in the newspaper business for four decades, coming to The Dispatch in 1996 after working in other newsrooms. She helped lead the Business Desk, where she was not only an advocate for providing you with a robust daily business report, but also was a stickler for accuracy. And she contributed greatly to that feeling of a newsroom family, always remembering the birthdays of her colleagues with home-baked treats.”
Before the Dispatch, James worked at the Daily Reporter for 11 years.
