Allan Brettman, the business editor of The Columbian in Vancouver, Washington, is leaving the paper.
Brettman said his new job is not in journalism, but he declined to give further details.
He has been at the paper since September 2018. Before The Columbian, he spent 18 years at the Oregonian in Portland, covering Nike and other business news stories.
Brettman also worked at The Daily News in Longview, Washington, and at the Memphis Commercial Appeal in Tennessee.
