Coleman named executive editor of CBS MoneyWatch
He starts his new job on Sept. 8. He replaces Amey Stone, who left earlier this year to work at Barron’s.
Coleman was founding editor of InvestmentNews, which targets the financial advice industry, as well as of FinancialWeek, which folded in late 2008. He also spent seven years at Crain’s Chicago Business, where he rose from features editor to managing editor.
At Crain’s New York, Coleman had overseen coverage of the economy, Wall Street, banking, health care and small business as managing editor before becoming editor. He became editor of Crain’s New York in 2012, but stepped down in February after the newspaper cut 40 percent of its editorial staff.
He also spent seven years at Time Inc. as an assistant managing editor of Money magazine and deputy editor of Popular Science.
