CNNMoney.com ranked first in the financial news and information category in unique viewers, total streams and streams per viewer in April, according to numbers from Nielsen VideoCensus.
After expanding its online video presence with eight new online business shows, CNNMoney.com recorded 20.2 million total U.S. streams – or 52 percent of the total streams in the category.
With shows such as “Strategy Session” and “Conscious Capitalism” CNNMoney.com bested its closet competitor, Yahoo! Finance by nearly six times as many total streams.
In March, CNNMoney.com unveiled eight new online business shows. They include a twice-a-week segment called “Help Desk,†that answers personal-finance questions, and “Conscious Capitalism,†a weekly show on corporate philanthropy.
In a category that was down overall in April, users turned to CNNMoney.com for business news and video. In total streams, the site showed gains with a 19 percent increase from March 2009 and a 55 percent year-over-year increase.
CNNMoney.com also saw gains in unique viewers with a 35 percent increase from April 2008, according to Nielsen.
CNNMoney.com also led the category in April in unique viewers with 1 million, total time spent viewing and the total time spent viewing per viewer, according to Nielsen. CNNMoney.com had 7.7 million unique users in April, a 6 percent increase from March 2009.
