CNNMoney promotes six staffers

Lex Haris, the executive editor at CNNMoney.com, sent out the following announcement on Friday:

We are very excited to announce the following promotions – all so well deserved!

Stephany Cardet, Web Developer
She has spent nearly 2 years doing exceptional work as a Webmaster, the go-to on so many projects. I know everybody on the team will be excited about her new role, as we will continue to get to work with Stephany on a wide range of editorial initiatives.

Melanie Hicken, Staff Writer
She got us to care about pensions. She’s a true data geek, and now we know, a real investigative journalist (and podcaster!). We couldn’t be more proud of the work she has done to establish CNNMoney as a place where we do real journalism that matters to real people.

Richa Naik, Associate Producer
Richa has done it all in her time as a PA: live TV, breaking news, digital video, and social content creation. She’s going to put all those skills to work in a new role as an AP, producing Christine on Early Start alongside Logan.

Jose Pagliery, Staff Writer
Jose has completely immersed himself in his beat: All things tech, especially the shady side. And he loves being a reporter: It’s hard to imagine someone taking more joy in his work – and more care.

Alanna Petroff, Senior Reporter/Producer
Alanna brings such positive energy to every project she works on, and has become indispensable to Mark as that small team churns out more and more impressive coverage. She stays focused on the most important stories (and a few others that are just plain fun). “Alanna-isms” are evidently a thing in London bureau, and we love when they make it into her stories.

Peter Valdes-Dapena, Digital Correspondent
The Anthony Bourdain of cars, as Cullen likes to say. I don’t drive, but still love the sensibility Peter brings to his autos coverage, both in video and text. He’s been with us for 15 years, and yet, each year he brings new dimension to his approach. He’ll report to Cullen but his longtime editor Octavio will continue to work with him on many good stories to come.

P.S.: Greg Wallace would have been on this list – but he’s off to a fun opportunity with CNN in D.C. The good news is he’s staying within the Money and Politics family, and will work closely with Rachel Smolkin’s team (as well as us). Technically, he’s got 6 days as a CNNMoney Associate Editor, so please congratulate him too!
