CNNMoney promotes Haris to executive editor

Meredith Artley, vice president and managing editor of CNN Digital, sent out the following announcement on Tuesday morning:

Lex Haris is now the Executive Editor of CNNMoney.

Lex has been doing an excellent job as the interim editor for CNNMoney for the past few months since Peacock’s departure. Lex has put a focus on getting ready for the changes coming 6/1, including new luxury and media verticals, new specials and tentpoles, and working tightly with Caleb and team to bring the Money brand across the weekend show and all on air segments.

Lex knows CNNMoney — he has been there since 2001, and has been the site’s managing editor since 2007. Among his many accomplishments is his leadership away from commoditized newsgathering, building out the newsroom with a team of smart journalists – not only in New York, but in London and Hong Kong.
I’ve truly enjoyed getting to work more closely with Lex in the past few months. I’ve seen him inspire the team to go farther on voice and creative angles. I’ve learned that he bikes and sometimes scoots to work, that he is both stylish and kind, that he cares deeply about his staff and is an absolute expert when it comes to this beat. Lex will report into Ed.

Join me in congratulating Lex on his promotion
