CNNMoney names sports biz reporter

Ahiza Garcia, who has been with CNNMoney.com for the past year, is moving to the sports business beat.

Garcia, who has been a general assignment reporter, will remain part of the news team and help turn CNNMoney’s longtime commitment to sports business coverage into a mini-vertical.

She has a master’s degree in broadcast and digital journalism, with a sports communication emphasis, from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Columbia University.

Garcia previously spent a year working for Talking Points Memo. She freelanced for ESPN The Magazine.
