Julia Carpenter has been hired by CNNMoney to cover the intersection of gender and money.
She starts July 24.
Carpenter is currently a social media editor embedded within The Washington Post features section, where she plots audience strategy for special projects and brands in arts criticism, lifestyle, pop culture and more.
She also runs run The Post’s Tumblr, and she pitches in with social strategy for multiple Post brands. She also works with audience engagement and user-generated content and in The Post’s many ancillary communities, such as the Facebook group associated with our veterans’ issues series, “After the Wars.”
Also at The Post, she was a co-creator of the Pay Up Slack community, a year-long project where they invited women in tech to share their experiences with work and money.
She is a University of Georgia graduate and interned for CNN and Elle magazine while she was in college.
