CNNMoney.com managing editor Lex Haris sent out the following staff announcement on Monday:
I am pleased to announce that we’ve hired a new reporter/producer for our London bureau: Virginia Harrison.
It’s been nearly one year since we began CNNMoney’s global expansion, and the impact has been pronounced: We are ever closer to 24-7 coverage, with smarter takes on big stories out of Europe and Asia. Virginia fills out Mark Thompson’s international team and will allow us to respond even more quickly to breaking news and get an earlier start producing and promoting content across the site.
Virginia moved to London from Australia earlier this year. She was a journalist on Sky News business channel in Australia before joining the Wall Street Journal’s MarketWatch.com, where she covered Asia-Pacific financial news for nearly two years.
Virginia starts in London on August 28.
