CNNMoney.com hires new London reporter

Lex Haris, CNNMoney managing editor, sent out the following staff announcement on Monday:

I am pleased to announce that we’ve hired a new reporter for our London bureau: Alanna Petroff.

Alanna is a Canadian, and has been in London for a while now. She got her MBA in 2011 from the University of Oxford, and since 2012 has been a writer and editor for Morningstar’s UK edition.

Mark Thompson’s 2-person global team (himself and Charles) has already had a huge impact on our storytelling and ability to react to breaking news. We are now getting out in front of big developments in China and are well positioned in Europe now that it is once again driving global markets.

Imagine the potential with Employee No. 3. And don’t forget, we are only halfway through our global expansion: We are currently recruiting for Employees 4, 5, and 6.

Alanna’s start date is April 8. She will be travelling on vacation in advance and will be making a pit stop here in New York from April 1 – April 3 to meet everyone.
