CNN Business vice president and general manager Jason Farkas is leaving the organization and becoming a partner in Brunswick Group.
He will start his new job on Jan. 3.
Farkas was responsible for the global commercial and editorial operations of CNN’s business news platform. Prior to that, he spearheaded the name change from CNNMoney to CNN Business and launched CNNVR, the network’s immersive journalism operation.
He also served as executive producer of “Reliable Sources,” CNN’s Sunday morning show that examines the intersection of media and politics. Prior to joining CNN, Farkas ran afternoon programming on Bloomberg TV and launched several primetime shows at CNBC.
“Jason has deep experience in both the business and editorial sides of the media industry, said Brunswick CEO Neal Wolin in a statement. “That combination of commercial and media relations expertise positions him well to provide clients with strategic advice on a wide range of critical issues – in the Americas and beyond.”
