Sally Shin, CNBC’s San Francisco bureau chief, is joining NBC News as executive editor of business, tech and media coverage.
Prior to her role as bureau chief she was the senior producer for “Squawk on the Street” and “Squawk Alley.” She helped launch “Squawk Alley,” a one-hour program that focuses on the intersection of tech and Wall Street, in 2014.
In her time at CNBC she has covered major IPOs including Facebook, Alibaba and Twitter IPOs, and spearheaded events including the IMF/World Bank meetings, Cannes Lions and the UK referendum.
She has a B.A. in journalism and economics from New York University and a M.B.A. at Columbia Business School, with a focus in finance. Before joining CNBC, she was with Bloomberg TV.
