CNBC's Quick: WSJ got it right online

February 17, 2009

CNBC anchor Becky Quick talked to TV Newser about how the business news network is reporting the current economy crisis and other issues.

Steve Krakauer writes, “She also talked about how her and her co-anchors try to find positive stories to include in broadcasts. ‘Things still stink out there. They’re not looking better but maybe they’re not looking a whole lot worse,’ she said.

“Before CNBC, Quick worked at the Wall Street Journal, and thinks their online pay model is one other newspapers should adopt. ‘I think the Wall Street Journal got it right when they started charging people for this…Content is knowledge and the knowledge is worth something,’ said Quick.

“Also discussed: why she recently canceled her Facebook account, how CNBC has changed their broadcast since the audience has widened and more.”
