CNBC’s Liesman slams CNBC’s Santelli on the air

Steve Liesman, the chief economics correspondent for CNBC, said the following to CNBC’s Rick Santelli on the air on Monday:

“Rick, It is impossible for you to have been more wrong…. your call for inflation, the destruction of the dollar, the failure of the US economy to rebound. Rick it’s impossible for you to have been more wrong. Every single bit of advice you gave would have lost people money Rick. … There is no piece of advice you’ve given that’s worked.”

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
