CNBC.com and the business news network’s mobile and digital applications had their best day ever in terms of both unique visitors and page views on Monday, when the market fell 5 percent due to the Standard & Poor’s downgrade of the U.S. government.
CNBC.com was visited by 2.3 million daily unique visitors and recorded 35 million page views. This represents a 119 percent jump in unique visitors and a 103 percent increase in page views compared to the daily average.
CNBC Mobile also shattered records Monday.
CNBC Mobile Web recorded more than 6 million page views, which represents a 111 percent increase in page views compared to the daily average and, for the first time ever, attracted more than 500,000 daily uniques.
CNBC’s iPhone app posted nearly 6 million page views, representing a 162 percent increase versus the daily average and posted more than 200,000 uniques. CNBC’s iPad app recorded more than 1 million page views and recorded more than 100,000 uniques. CNBC’s Android app saw a 106 percent increase in page views and a 65 percent increase in uniques compared to the daily average.
