CNBC viewership continues to fall

The up and down, topsy-turvy stock market these past few weeks is doing nothing to help business news channel CNBC‘s ratings.

Twice in the past week, CNBC has recorded a new low for viewers in the key 25 to 54-year-old demographic.

On Monday, CNBC had its lowest rated weekday primetime rating of the year — just 39,000 viwers in the demographic.  The previous low had been this past Friday, when it had 44,000 viewers.

The ratings are, however, good news for CNN, which had fallen behind CNBC in overall ratings last month. This will probably hurt any chance CNN had of finishing last for the month of February.
