The new CNBC.com is one piece of CNBC’s technology stack rebuild that includes a new content management system, new application program interface, and a new publishing system for rendering websites.
The new publishing system supports CNBC’s multiple websites, including its Warren Buffett Archive and Make It sites, which will launch later this year.
Here’s an evolution of CNBC’s web design:
CNBC.com’s new homepage features include a new global header with simplified navigation and search features with artificial intelligence-powered recommendations with auto-complete suggestions, related tags and ticker symbols.
There’s also smart personalized “For You” content based on a user’s engagement with articles, quote pages, newsletters and watch lists.
Article pages on CNBC.com now include a Top Stories ticker to keep users updated on news, especially those coming from search and social media, as well as an article peek included at the bottom of the main article for users who may be interested in related content and want to dive right in to the next article
CNBC launched its new content management system, Carbon, in June. The new system also allows the editorial team to manage the content and layout of the new homepage using a layout tool with instant preview.
