Lacy O’Toole has been named Los Angeles bureau chief of CNBC, according to a release.
In this role, O’Toole will manage CNBC’s West Coast coverage of breaking news, the housing and mortgage crisis, and the entertainment industry as well as continue to oversee big network projects such as CNBC’s series of special reports on Warren Buffet with anchor Becky Quick and anchor Erin Burnett’s recent trip to Dubai.
“This appointment is a testament to Lacy’s talent, hard work and dedication,” said Jonathan Wald, senior vice president of business news for CNBC, in a statement. “Our Los Angeles bureau has increasingly become a major source of news for the network, and I am confident under Lacy’s direction the bureau’s first-rate coverage will continue to grow.”
O’Toole joined CNBC in 2002 as a news associate working on the newsdesk and quickly became a segment producer for the network. She is currently a field producer managing CNBC’s coverage of important remote events including the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland and key CNBC series and specials such as “Katrina: One Year Later,” “Warren Buffett: The Billionaire Next Door” and “Fire & Ice.” Prior to CNBC, O’Toole worked in editing and communications for Leerink Swann and Co., a boutique investment bank in Boston.
