CNBC moves Sheetz to space beat

CNBC Digital reporter Michael Sheetz has been appointed to covering the space industry on a full-time basis.

He previously was a markets reporter but has been writing about space whenever possible. He will now be covering SpaceX, Blue Origin, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Virgin Galactic, Maxar and Iridium.

“The current crisis and volatile environment mean I will continue to pitch in on CNBC’s Markets team for at least a little while longer,” said Sheetz on Twitter. “This is an unprecedented time and I’m grateful for the opportunities to cover it moment-by-moment.”

Sheetz joined CNBC in May 2017 and was promoted to a reporter in July 2018. He also interned on the “Mad Money” show.

He’s a graduate of The King’s College in New York.
