Laura Lorenzetti of Crain’s New York writes that CNBC is looking at a reality show that focuses on CEOs who need to get back on track after a personal or professional setback.
Lorenzetti writes, “According to a source close to the project, former New York Ranger Sean Avery will host the show, which will feature one CEO per episode. A pilot is being produced for CNBC. ‘We are focusing on high-end business,’ the inside source said. ‘It’s all about one-on-one male coaching.’
“Mr. Avery, known for his competitive edge on the ice, will show no mercy as he whips the executives back into shape. The onetime left wing, who retired from professional hockey last year, runs two of his own small businesses in the city, the Warren 77 sports bar and Tiny’s restaurant.
“The CEOs should be ‘ready to tackle any obstacles facing their business,’ according to an open casting call on Palladino’s Facebook page. A camera-ready smile and an ace slapshot may not hurt, either.”
