CNBC hires Solomon as general assignment reporter

Rahel Solomon

Nick Dunn, vice president and managing editor of CNBC Business News, sent out the following announcement on Tuesday:

I’m pleased to announce that Rahel Solomon will join CNBC as a general assignment reporter based at CNBC Global Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, N.J. Her first day will be March 25th.

Rahel comes to CNBC from CBS 3 in Philadelphia where she was most recently co-anchor of Eyewitness News This Morning, the station’s popular morning newscast, and Eyewitness News at Noon. Rahel joined CBS 3 as a general assignment reporter in September 2015. During her time at the station, she also anchored the weekend morning news.

Prior to CBS 3, Rahel was a reporter and fill-in anchor at KCNC-TV, the CBS-owned station in Denver. While there, she covered the trial of Aurora Theater Shooter James Holmes and Colorado flooding for CBS This Morning. In 2015, she was named the Colorado Association of Black Journalists’ Broadcast Journalist of the Year. Previously, Rahel worked as a multimedia journalist for WSAZ-TV in Charleston, West Virginia.

Rahel earned a master’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She also attended St. John’s University where she graduated with high honors and a bachelor of science degree in finance.

Please join me in welcoming Rahel to CNBC.
