CNBC hires Russom as correspondent for Shep Smith show

Perry Russom joins CNBC as a new correspondent for “The News with Shepard Smith,” based at CNBC Global Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey

The Emmy award-winning journalist joins from NBC10 and NECN, where he spent five years as a general assignment reporter and most recently as a weekend anchor. He has also worked at WBNG, WPRI and KYW Newsradio 1060.

He has also interned at NBC Philadelphia and NBC Sports for the Olympic Games in London.

Russom graduated with broadcast journalism and political science degrees from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where he was named a Newhouse Scholar as well as a Remembrance Scholar.
