Nik Deogun, the senior vice president and editor in chief at CNBC, sent out the following staff announcement on Friday morning:
I am delighted to announce the return of Gary Schreier to CNBC as Executive Producer of “Closing Bell.” With more than two decades of experience, Gary is a seasoned hand at producing business news. He joins us from Fox, where he has played an integral role in the development of business programming for Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network. Most recently, Gary served as Executive Producer for Neil Cavuto, SVP of Fox News Channel and Managing Editor of Fox Business Network. During his career at Fox, Gary developed and created several successful programs for the network, including “TheStreet.com” and the four programs that make up “The Cost of Freedom” business block on Fox News Channel. Gary also oversaw special coverage of key events such as Fox Business Network’s 2010 midterm election coverage.
This is a homecoming of sorts for Gary. He started his career at CNBC in 1990, working on “Money Wheel” and “Market Wrap,” before leaving a few years later.
Please join me in welcoming Gary back to CNBC.
