CNBC hires Kate Rogers from Fox Business

CNBC senior vice president and editor in chief Nikhil Deogun sent out the following staff announcement on Wednesday:

I am pleased to announce that Kate Rogers will be joining CNBC as a general assignment reporter, initially focusing on entrepreneurship and small business, effective Monday, Sept. 8.

The global economy is powered by the ideas and actions of entrepreneurs. As we often report on air, small business is a linchpin of employment in the U.S. Given the importance of entrepreneurship, we’re excited to bring Kate’s extensive knowledge and reporting of the topic to both Business Day and CNBC.com. She will also contribute to our overall markets coverage.

Kate comes to us from Fox Business where she covered personal finance and small business for the network as well as FoxBusiness.com and Fox News.  She also created and hosted a web series on entrepreneurship and startups called “Growing Your Business” for FoxBusiness.com.

Prior to FBN, Kate was a reporter at the Nonprofit Times covering the business aspect of nonprofit management, and was an editor at the Union County Local Source.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Journalism and a minor in Women’s Studies from the University of Delaware.

Please join me in welcoming Kate to CNBC.
