CNBC Digital hires six, promotes seven

Jennifer Liu

Jennifer Liu joins CNBC’s Make It as a work reporter. Prior to joining CNBC, she worked as an editor at Learnvest. At Learnvest, she focused on creating personal finance/career-related content, and worked there since March 2015.

Liu worked as a digital editorial assistant for All You Magazine, owned by Time Inc., from June 2014 to March 2015. Liu graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2014.

Allison Lau

Allison Lau joins the CNBC’s Make It video team as a producer. She was previously an assistant producer at VICE Media from June 2018 to June 2019. 

Prior to her time at VICE Media, Lau worked as a social video producer/editor for Conde Nast. She received her master’s degree in video storytelling from Columbia University and her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of California, Irvine.

Maria Lamagna

Maria Lamagna has left Marketwatch and joined CNBC’s Make It as an editor.

Alysha Webb

Alysha Webb will also be joining CNBC’s Make It as a producer. Webb previously worked as a video producer for ELLE Magazine from July 2016 to June 2019. She also worked for Hearst Digital Media in a variety of research and production roles, as well.

Webb received her master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Oregon.

Gene Kim

Gene Kim has joined CNBC as an animator.  Prior to CNBC, he was a video producer and motion graphic designer for Insider Inc. He received his bachelor’s degree from New York University.

Ashley Turner

Ashley Turner has joined CNBC as a social media producer. She began her career at CNBC as an assignment desk intern in January 2018.

She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Seton Hall University where she was Editor-in-Chief of the student-run newspaper, The Setonian.

Additionally, Leah Ginsberg has been promoted to Deputy Managing Editor. Angelica LaVito, Berkeley Lovelace Jr. and Michael Sheetz have all been promoted to reporter. Andrew Evers and Magdalena Petrova have both been promoted to producer.
