CNBC continues to post record viewers

Business news cable network CNBC continues to post record ratings, according to data from last week.

The network averaged 178,000 viewers last week in the 25 to 54 age group during its core 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. time slot. That’s the best week for CNBC since March 2001 and is up 16 percent from last week.

In total viewers, the network’s business day averaged 570,000 for the week, which is its best week ever in terms of total viewers and is up 5 percent from last week, when there was an average of 541,000 total viewers.

For the first two weeks of October, CNBC’s business day is averaging 166,000 viewers in the key 25 to 54 age group, up 118 percent from October 2007, when the network averaged 76,000 viewers in the age group.

And in terms of total viewers, CNBC is averaging 555,000, up 112 percent from October 2007, when it had 262,000 total viewers.
