CNBC.com tech reporter Anita Balakrishnan has left the news organization and is moving to Toronto.
Balakrishnan will be taking a role at Thomson Reuters in Toronto, where she will be a staff writer on the Law Times publication, covering the legal industry.
Her last day at CNBC was Wednesday and her first day at Law Times is Monday.
In a note to her CNBC colleagues, Balakrishnan wrote, “I feel I’ve grown immensely in both a personal and professional capacity during my time here. For fear of sounding cliche, there will always be a special place in my mind and heart for my first reporting job here.”
Before joining CNBC, Balakrishnan was a Dow Jones News Fund intern at USA Today Money. She is a graduate of the New York University journalism program’s business and economic reporting program.
