Lauren Thomas has been named retail reporter for CNBC.com after previously serving as a news associate.
Thomas will focus on building CNBC.com’s coverage of department stores such as Macy’s and J.C. Penney, plus specialty retailers such as Lululemon in her new position.
She joined CNBC in January 2017 as a news associate focused on breaking news coverage, but quickly shifted gears to retail and consumer coverage.
Thomas graduated with highest honors from the UNC-Chapel Hill in December 2016, where she studied business journalism and Spanish.
While in school, Thomas was one of the founding journalists of the North Carolina Business News Wire.
