CNBC.com has hired Reuters reporter Sal Rodriguez to cover Facebook and other tech companies.
His last day at Reuters is Sept. 12. He will start at CNBC.com on Sept. 17 and will continue to be based in San Francisco.
“I’m thrilled to be joining such a talented and growing team,” said Rodriguez in a post on Twitter. “I want to thank all my editors and colleagues at Reuters. My goal when I joined the news wire was to grow as a reporter, and I felt like I did that every single day by collaborating with you all.”
At Reuters, Rodriguez has covered the enterprise software and cloud computing markets with a focus on Microsoft and Salesforce.
Rodriguez has previously covered the tech industry for Inc. magazine, the International Business Times and the Los Angeles Times, and he has contributed pieces to Vice, Digital Trends and the Federal Times, among others.
Rodriguez received his journalism training at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in Phoenix. There, he earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in journalism and completed a specialization in business reporting.
