I am pleased to announce two new hires for the CNBC.com newsroom.
First, Chris Eudaily joins as a news editor who will help oversee CNBC.com and manage breaking news during the day.
For the previous five years, he worked for the San Antonio Express-News, first as a digital producer and later as director of digital audiences. During his time at the Express-News, Chris was central to coordinating coverage for a number of major national stories from Hurricane Harvey to the retirement of Spurs great Tim Duncan. Chris began his journalism career as a web editor for Texas Public Radio.
He received his bachelor’s degree in mass communication-journalism from Texas State University-San Marcos. Prior to his career in journalism, Chris spent seven years in the music industry as a manager, promoter and live DJ, performing with members of the Wu Tang Clan and Jurassic 5.
Chris was born in Canada but spent his childhood in Corvallis, Oregon, and after a couple of chilly winters in South Dakota, he moved to Texas. He is married with three kids – ages 2, 5 and 10. With his cat and floppy-eared Doberman also in the mix, there is never a dull moment at the Eudaily house.
Let’s also welcome Nate Rattner, who joins CNBC.com as a data visualization journalist. He will partner with reporters to provide data analyses and graphics for stories, while also pitching and producing data-driven content for the newsroom.
Nate was most recently a content manager at SeatGeek, where he was responsible for using the company’s internal ticketing data to produce stories and data visualizations about the live entertainment landscape.
Before that, he worked at a start-up in Columbus, Ohio, through a fellowship with Venture for America, a two-year entrepreneurship program that serves to create economic opportunity in American cities.
Nate received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University; he grew up in New Rochelle, New York. He enjoys going to the movies and honing his mid-range game in pickup basketball.
Both Chris and Nate will join the Englewood Cliffs newsroom over the next few weeks. Please say hello when they arrive.
