CNBC.com hires 13 new staffers, names news editor and weekend editor

Jay Yarow, senior vice president and executive editor of CNBC.com, sent out the following announcement on Monday:

I’m excited to announce a handful of new hires to the CNBC Digital team.

Kif Leswing joins our Technology team as a reporter, focusing on Apple and the broader hardware industry. Kif spent the last three years at Business Insider, where he broke news and wrote features on Apple, Magic Leap and other tech companies. He got his start covering gadgets as an intern at Gizmodo and Gawker Media. Kif graduated from Oberlin College with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He is currently based in EC, but will be moving out to San Francisco in the coming months.

Megan Graham joins CNBC Digital as a reporter, focusing on the advertising industry. Most recently, she was an advertising agency reporter for Ad Age where she covered many of the seismic changes at major ad holding companies. Prior to Ad Age, Megan wrote about technology and start-ups for the Chicago Tribune and covered breaking news and business at the Chicago Sun-Times. She began her journalism career at the Kokomo Tribune as a business reporter. Megan earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Michael Bloom, who is already a very familiar face here at CNBC, has joined CNBC.com as a reporter, covering Wall Street research and analysts. Michael spent the last 12 years as a senior talent producer, responsible for booking some of the biggest names for CNBC’s Business Day programming. Prior to CNBC, he was a booking producer for Fox News and an associate producer at ABC Radio. Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Ithaca College.

Kevin Breuninger joins CNBC.com as a reporter, covering breaking news for the Politics team. Before CNBC, he was a recruitment outreach coordinator and associate teacher at Success Academy Charter Schools. Kevin got his start in politics as a volunteer organizer for congressional and senate campaigns in Connecticut before moving on to become a legislative intern for the U.S. House of Representatives. Kevin received his master’s degree from CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and history from the University of Connecticut.

Tucker Higgins joins CNBC Digital as a reporter, covering the Supreme Court as well as breaking news for the Politics desk. Previously, he was a Dow Jones News Fund business reporting fellow and freelancer for SevenFifty Daily and CNN. Tucker received his bachelor’s degree in International relations and affairs from the College of William and Mary where he was the Editor-in-Chief for the school newspaper, The Flat Hat.

Annie Nova joins CNBC.com as a personal finance reporter with a focus on education. Prior to CNBC, she was an editorial intern at MONEY and reported in the South Bronx for two years for local newspapers. Her work has also appeared on WNYC and in The New York Post. Annie received her master’s degree in business journalism from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and her undergraduate degree in literature from Hunter College.

Dain Evans joins the CNBC Digital team as a producer for tech video, based in Englewood Cliffs. He joins us from NowThisMedia where he was an associate producer, creating short-form videos. Dain earned his bachelor’s degree in film and video from Columbia College in Chicago.

Shawn Baldwin joins CNBC Digital as a producer, focusing on consumer and personal finance content. He joins CNBC from Dow Jones Media Group where he was a videographer, editor and producer for multiple series across the Wall Street Journal Digital Network. Shawn began his career in 1994 as a photographer for Reuters, based in London, before moving on to photographing the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya for The New York Times. He received his master’s degree in journalism from UC Berkeley and earned a bachelor’s degree in photography from Syracuse University.

Tala Hadavi joins the CNBC Digital video team as a producer. For the past seven years, Tala has worked as a video journalist contributing to a number of organizations including Voice of America, The New York Times, Great Big Story, Forbes and Swedish National Television. She has covered a range of topics including separated families on the Mexico-U.S. border, Syrian and Iraqi refugees in Jordan and homelessness and addiction in Baltimore. Her latest documentary, Love, Mommy, was broadcasted nationally on PBS. Tala received her bachelor’s degree in International business from American University and earned two master’s degrees – one in Economics from American University and one from Columbia Journalism School.

Emma Fierberg joins the CNBC Make It video team as a producer. Emma began her journalism career at Business Insider as a video production intern before moving up to video producer where she worked across the Business Insider, INSIDER and Tech Insider brands. She earned her bachelor’s degree in photojournalism with a minor in music performance from Syracuse University.

Alexandria (Allie) White joins CNBC Make It as a money reporter, focused on credit cards. Allie comes to us from LendingTree, where she began as a credit card intern before working her way up to credit card writer in December 2017, responsible for creating credit-related content across the company’s entire portfolio. She received her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Adelphi University.

Alicia Adamczyk joins the CNBC Make It team as a money reporter. Prior to CNBC, she was a personal finance writer for Lifehacker. Before that, Alicia spent nearly three years at Money.com where she was a reporter, writing health and personal finance stories, and co-host of the publication’s weekly Facebook live show, This Week in Money. She began her journalism career as a business/lifestyle reporter for Forbes. Alicia earned her bachelor’s degree in International studies from the University of Michigan, where she was an editor for the daily student paper, The Michigan Daily.

Anna Hecht joins CNBC Make It as a money reporter, covering credit cards. Most recently, she was a commerce editor for CNN Digital, where she was a founding member of CNN’s first-ever commerce site, CNN Underscored. She also worked at InStyle, where she began as an editorial assistant before rising up the ranks to e-commerce editor for the magazine. Anna began her journalism career at Lucky, where she was the assistant to the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Eva Chen. Anna received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

I’m also pleased to announce that Sara Salinas has been promoted to News Editor and Spencer Kimball has been named our new weekend editor, both reporting to EB Cordova.
