CNBC.com and CNBC Mobile set new records

CNBC‘s digital operations reported numerous records for May.

According to the latest data from comScore Media Metrix, CNBC.com was visited by more than 6 million unique visitors and generated 326 million page views, making it the best month on record.

CNBC Mobile, which includes CNBC Mobile Web and CNBC’s iPhone App, crossed the 100-million monthly page view mark for the first time ever. CNBC Mobile Web had its best month ever in terms of page views with close to 61 million, a 45 percent increase compared to May 2009. CNBC’s iPhone App also had its best month ever in page views with over 41 million and in unique visitors with more than 367,000, according to Omniture.

Additional May 2010 highlights include:

  • 1. CNBC.com is the No. 1 standalone financial news site by total page views;
  • 2. CNBC.com is the No. 1 standalone financial news site in total minutes with visitors spending 549 minutes on the site in May;
  • 3. CNBC.com remains No. 1 in time spent per visit with users spending an average of 16.5 minutes per visit, the most in the Business/Finance – News/Research category;
  • 4. CNBC.com is the No. 1 site in page views per visitor with users consuming an average of 54 pages per visitor;
  • 5. During the flash crash on May 6, both CNBC.com and CNBC Mobile Web posted their best hour ever. At 3 p.m. EST that day, CNBC.com experienced a 130 percent spike in page views; and CNBC Mobile Web had a 154 percent increase in page views compared to the typical traffic levels for this hour.
