Business news channel CNBC announced internally a number of new managers on Tuesday, part of a domino effect that began earlier this month when senior vice president Jeremy Pink left and managing editor Nik Deogun was promoted to his spot.
Deogun sent out a memo, which was obtained by Chris Ariens of TV Newser, that outlined the changes.
They include the naming of CNN’s Scott Matthews as vice president of news specials. In addition, deputy managing editor Nick Dunn becomes the new managing editor.
Also, Deogun named Lacy O’Toole as director of news coverage. She had been assistant managing editor, bureau chief and field producer.
Tyler Mathisen, who at one point had been managing editor, was named standards editor. He will help producers, editors and reporters handle ethical conflicts and will be involved in training employees.
Finally, Deogun named Steve Lewis as executive producer of strategic content and news partnerships for Business Day. Lewis had been assistant managing editor of enterprise.
Said Deogun: “These individuals will report to me, effective immediately, as will the Business Day executive producers. I am confident that this structure, combined with our collective passion and focus, will yield results for CNBC.”
