Claman: People at CNBC are "a little scared of us"

Liz Claman, the anchor at Fox Business Network who came from rival CNBC, is interviewed in the Boston Herald on Thursday and talks about her career and her previous employer, where she says people “are maybe a little scared of us.”

Jessica Heslam writes, “At the time, CNBC needed people who could communicate well. The network offered her a 13-week tryout and she went for it. ‘It was a leap of faith to leave a great job in Boston,’ Claman said.

“It was a leap worth taking.

“CNBC offered her a long-term contract. After nine years there, Claman left last year for the newly launched Fox Business Network, which turned 1 this month.

“‘I could have stayed and been so comfortable with very smart people and the so-called world leader in business news,’ Claman said. But she said she was given a chance to work ‘from the ground up’ with TV visionaries Rupert Murdoch, Roger Ailes and Kevin Magee .

“‘You don’t turn that opportunity down, because life is short,’ said Claman, who lives in New Jersey.”
