Michael Hickins, a senior editor at The Wall Street Journal since November 2009, and the editor of CIO Journal, left earlier this month to accept a position in Oracle public relations.
During his time at The Journal, he has led a premium Web aggregation edition, WSJ Professional, managed the Digits technology blog, and has been interim editor of CFO Journal.
Previously, he was executive editor at Ziff Davis Enterprise, with editorial responsibility for eWEEK, Baseline and CIO Journal. He has also led coverage on InformationWeek’s Digital Life and BNET’s Technology blogs.
Hickins has covered various aspects of business technology since 1984, with notable stops at InternetNews.com, Reuters, and Fairchild Publications.
He holds a B.A. in literature from Columbia College and an M.F.A. in writing from Columbia University.
