Cincy Enquirer's P&G coverage

Cincinnati Enquirer business editor Carolyn Pione writes Sunday about the department’s new employees, particularly former Boston Globe reporter Keith Reed, who will cover Proctor & Gamble.

Pione wrote, “And this is where the new reporting initiative comes in: Being new in town and to the P&G beat, as well as having a penchant for technology, Reed is the perfect fit for this new project. It’s called beat blogging with a social network, and it’s part of a national pilot program launched by Jay Rosen, a well-known journalism researcher and professor at New York University.

“He will create a blog about P&G where people can share ideas and information, and, we hope, improve The Enquirer’s coverage of P&G. Media outlets nationwide are participating, including daily newspapers in Dallas, Houston and Seattle, wired.com and ESPN.com.

“P&G lent itself uniquely to this project because its reach in this region is broad and deep. Its business affects our economy on many levels, from vendor relationships to shareholders, former employees who are entrepreneurs, retirees volunteering in the community, spin-off industries and community organizations.”
