Carolyn Pione, the business editor of the Cincinnati Enquirer, has started a new weekly column called The Street that will appear on Sundays.
The column replaces Think About This from former business reporter Cliff Peale, who moved to local news to cover higher education and write a column.
Pione wrote, “My goal for this new column is not to provide opinion but to break news and to write about issues that are important to this region; find out who’s doing what and why; and write about what’s setting the business community abuzz.
“So I will spend a lot of time having breakfasts and lunches, forming relationships and listening to ‘pitches.’ It’s all about outreach.
“I want to get to know this community better. I have been in Cincinnati for three years, and much of that time has been spent inside our Elm Street offices editing copy and handling management issues as the deputy business editor. As business editor for the past year, I still do all those things. But now I also have the power of delegation. That will let me get out and connect with the community.”
