Chicago Tribune business reporter Alexia Elejalde-Ruiz is leaving the newspaper for a job in public relations.
Her last day was Friday.
“I’m making a leap into media relations, and start a new job mid-March,” she wrote on Twitter. “To say this was an agonizing decision is an understatement.”
Elejalde-Ruiz’s previous beats include workplace issues, the retail sector and lifestyle features, plus stints at RedEye, the Daily Herald and the City News Service.
She grew up in Washington, D.C., and has her degree in international relations from Brown University.
