Chicago Trib biz editor Tatge named exec ed of Pensions & Investments

Julie Tatge, the former business editor of the Chicago Tribune, has been named executive editor of Pensions & Investments, a Crain’s publication.

At the Tribune, Tatge directed daily and Sunday business news coverage and department operations. Tatge held several other posts during her 12 years at the Tribune, including as bureau chief and assistant city editor.

Before joining the Tribune, Tatge was assistant business editor of the Columbus Dispatch; the managing editor of Business First, an award-winning weekly newspaper; and a reporter at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Tatge has a master’s degree in journalism from Ohio State.

Tatge will be based in the Chicago office of Pensions & Investments, which was founded in 1973.

Tatge replaces Amy Resnick, who became editor of the publication.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
