Chicago Booth seeks applications for 2019 biz journalism program

The Stigler Center for the Study of the Economy and the State at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business is organizing its Journalists in Residence Program March 25 to June 15, 2019 in Chicago.

The program aims to shape the next generation of leaders in business reporting. Participants will audit classes, participate in events, collaborate with peers and more.

The organizer provides airfare, a $12,000 stipend, training, a study space and an opportunity to write for the ProMarket blog.

The deadline to apply is Oct. 15.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
