Charlotte Biz Journal hires new real estate reporter

The Charlotte Business Journal has hired Ashley Fahey to be its new real estate reporter, according to Tony Wilbert of The Wilbert Group.

She replaces Will Boye, who left the paper last month to open a Charlotte office for Wilbert’s PR firm, which specializes in representing real estate companies.

Fahey is a 2013 graduate of Elon University, where she majored in print/online journalism and minored in international studies.

Since graduation, Fahey has worked at the McClatchy-owned newspapers The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette, based in the Hilton Head Island, S.C. area. She is the retail/real estate reporter for both papers and previously worked as a copy editor/page designer.

She wrote a three-day enterprise series in September 2015 about the future of retail development in Beaufort County.
