Allison Prang, a business reporter for the Charleston Post & Courier in South Carolina, has been hired by American Banker.
She will start on June 1 and cover community banks based in New York. Prang will report to Paul Davis, who oversees the community bank team.
At the Post and Courier, Prang covered tech and tourism.
“It’ll be great to start this next chapter with American Banker,” said Prang in an email to Talking Biz News. “I’ve met some wonderful people during my time at The Post and Courier.”
She graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and minored in political science and sociology. During her college career, she interned at The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News, The Kansas City Star, The Indianapolis Star, The Mash by the Chicago Tribune and the St. Louis Beacon.
In 2012, she won an honorable mention in the Best in Business contest put on by the Society of American Business Editors and Writers.
