Lucia Moses of MediaWeek writes Monday that the recent executive changes at Conde Nast means that there could be some changes at the top of the company’s business publications.
Moses wrote, “Some speculate that new publishers also could be named for titles Glamour and Condé Nast Portfolio, now that their current publishers have taken on new responsibilities. Bill Wackermann, vp, publisher, Glamour, was given oversight of CN’s bridal titles. And David Carey took on responsibility for Wired Media and The Golf Digest Group, in addition to his current role as Portfolio publisher and group president and publishing director, CN Business Media.
“Observers say Carey will also likely hire a separate publisher for Wired.com, now that Wired Media publishing director Drew Schutte has shifted over to The New Yorker, succeeding vp, publisher Lou Cona, who moved over to corporate sales. Some also wonder if Wired.com, now part of CN digital arm CondéNet, will move closer to the operating model of Portfolio.com, which is run by its magazine counterpart Portfolio.”
