A number of editorial changes have occurred at TheStreet.com in recent weeks, notes Executive Editor Aaron Task in an e-mail.
Lauren Silva is TheStreet.com’s new Wall Street/M&A reporter. She is a newly minted graduate of the NYU master’s program in business and economics reporting, and has interned at Dow Jones and The Financial Times. Previously, she was investment banking analyst at Deutsche Bank.
Ted Reed is the new transportation reporter and has more than 20 years experience covering the airline industry for publications including the Charlotte Observer, Miami Herald and Sacramento Bee. He also worked for US Airways writing internal publications and speeches for the company’s executives. Ted will work from his home office in Charlotte.
Marc Lichtenfeld is the new senior columnist and will pen a column tentatively titled “The Real Story� that will take a critical view of the consensus on specific stocks and other subjects. Marc was previously an analyst at Avalon Research Group and The Weiss Group, and a trader at Carlin Equities. His prior journalism experience includes as on-air reporter/anchor for On24 in San Francisco and as managing editor of InvestorsObserver, a personal finance Web site. Marc will work from his home office in Wellington, Fla.
Katie Dean joins TheStreet.com’s San Fran bureau and will primarily cover IT services, the large Indian outsourcers, as well as the security software beat. Katie was most recently a reporter at Wired Digital, where she worked for six years covering educational technology and digital entertainment. She was a finalist for the Western Publications Association’s 2005 Maggie Award for Best Consumer Web Article.
