Margaret Carmel will be joining BoiseDev as a reporter covering government, politics, and development.
She will also continue reporting on the challenges the tight housing market in Idaho presents to lower-income members of the community and the Treasure Valley as a whole.
Previously, Carmel was working in a similar capacity at The Idaho Press. Before that, she was with The News and Advance in Virginia, joining as a business reporter and then being promoted to the post of local government reporter and then holding the post of Lynchburg City Hall reporter.
She has also worked as a staff videographer and multimedia editor at The Commonwealth Times and has served as editor-in-chief of Mesh Media.
Carmel holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, international social justice, Middle Eastern studies and global education from Virginia Commonwealth University.
